The trip in pictures.

  • In the soft half-light, the rocky vaults of a cave are reflected in the clear waters of an underground lake. In the distance, a small boat glides through a narrow passage extending deeper into the cave.
  • In the foreground, rows of vineyards stretch toward the horizon, carpeting the mountainsides in autumn hues. In the background, a lush green mountain stands out beneath a cloudless sky.
  • Under the eaves of the Salgesch museum, clad in pine wood panelling, an exhibition of traditional vineyard tools and items lines the back wall. On the right, a row of glass display cases showcase numerous objects.
  • In the foreground, a cobbled street lined with a fountain, white parasols and red flowers creates a charming summer atmosphere. In the background, a solid building with light orange facades, adorned with small-paned windows and lavender-blue shutters, unfolds into two perpendicular wings connected by an elegant corner tower. Beneath a clear sky – Valais enjoys an average of 300 days of sunshine per year – two cyclists have set down their bikes and are heading towards a welcoming terrace.
  • In the foreground, clusters of grey rocks blend into the forest’s carpet of greenery. On the left, a rocky cliff opens up at its centre, revealing a sweeping view of distant pastures rising toward the snow-capped peaks of the Alps. At the heart of the scene, conifers and deciduous trees add depth and vitality to the landscape.
  • In the foreground, a couple seen from behind relaxes in a large pool, gazing at grey rocky mountains rising against a blue sky streaked with white clouds. On the right, the white and blue facades of a building lining the pool can be seen. In the right corner, a conical metal spiral rises toward the sky, adding a distinctive architectural touch to the scene.
